Praying

BLESSED BEYOND BELIEF

Welcome to “Blessed Beyond Belief:  St. Barabara’s Call to Hope and Prayer”

This is where you can share requests with the community, or ask that they be just for the eyes of the healing ministry team.  And–this is also the place to encourage others by letting them know you are praying for them —   just click on the button (you can do this just one time, or every time your pray!)

You are not required to give your name so you can make anonymous requests.  Your email is required only for technical reasons and does not appear publicly.  All public prayer requests are reviewed by the healing ministry team before being posted online.

There may be more requests than can fit on one page.  You can use the arrows at the bottom of the prayers to advance back and forth between the pages.

Please note two restrictions:

  1.  For your security, we will not indicate situations or times when you or others may be away from the house.  This means we may not mention hospitalizations, appointments, specifics about road trips, etc.  We will edit the wording of all requests appropriately.

2.  If you are asking for prayer for someone else and they do not know about the request, we will make sure that they stay anonymous.  If you would like their name or relationship mentioned, please let us know that you have received their permission.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so God can heal you.  When a believing person prays, great things happen!” — James 5:16

You may add your prayer request to our prayer wall using the form below. Once your prayer request is received, we will share it according to your instructions. Feel free to submit as many prayer requests as you like!

Giving thanks for Brenda Stage

Lord, I give you thanks for the amazing life of Brenda Stage. So many of us join our thoughts and hearts in prayers of thanksgiving for all that she was to us. Lord, today we need your Divine Comforter to stand close beside us, because we are also lost in grief and sadness. May that Holy Spirit pray within us and for us, because it is hard for us to find the right words to say. With Brenda, bring all of us to that final moment in which we have nothing else to do but love you forever, praising you for your eternal majesty and grace. Amen.

Edmund Krzeminski

[We read] In the King James Bible, Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada, Poland and Great Britain. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher?

Please pray that Great Britain, Poland, the USA, Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18).

* Poland, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord by faith only,

* the Church in the USA & Canada & Great Britain – Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church - Matt. 3.12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

* my family:

1. Bad executives are hurting me. Please pray for God's order in that case.

2. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughter Ann, and our sons Peter and Daniel - "..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15

3. Pray for God's will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for Edmund’s work situation, God's direction for Edmund , Dorothy, Peter, Daniel and Ann (also God's protection and blessings over the company where she works and she needs a husband),

4. God's order in my work. I ask God for great wisdom at my work. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.

Who is “St. Barbara?”

For decades, Barbara Roderick (1927-2020) was the prayer warrior for Hope United Methodist Church and beyond.  She was a loving parent, a faithful friend, a Thunder basketball fanatic, and a committed disciple of her Lord Jesus.  People constantly asked her to pray for them, and (with permission) she sent those requests out to church members and friends as well.  She wouldn’t take anyone off the prayer list until she knew 100% that God had answered their prayer.  By her actions and her words, she called all of us to a deeper life of hope and devotion.

A few years ago when we were in the process of renaming the church, we generated a list of 100 possible new ideas.  One tongue-in-cheek suggestion that appeared on the list was “St. Barbara’s United Methodist Church,” in recognition of her impact on the life of this faith community (many people have said privately that this is the name they will use, no matter what is on the deed).  This is not too far-fetched:  the centerpiece of Hope’s sanctuary–an eastern-facing stained glass window featuring the cross, two doves, and a lilly–was donated to the church by Barbara.

Barbara’s favorite saying was, “I am blessed beyond belief, and I love you all.”  Because of the prayer ministry of Barbara Roderick, countless persons will testify that they, too, have been blessed beyond belief.  This online “Prayer Wall” is just one way we continue this prayer ministry at Hope United Methodist Church, with deep gratitude for the grace of our Lord so faithfully modeled in the life of “St. Barbara.”
